Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:
- This Friday, the North Georgia State Fair will be held in Marietta's Jim Miller Park. Cobb Senior Services will be offering a series of special events meant for seniors 55 years and older during the North Georgia State Fair. The events are free and will start with an 8:00 a.m. breakfast. Seniors will be admitted to the fair for free. Click for the full event schedule. (Cobb County Courier)
- Marietta's Red Sky Tapas has closed. The restaurant gave no reason for the closure in its Facebook closure announcement. It officially closed on Sep. 15. The restaurant has been operating in Marietta for the last 14 years. (Atlanta Eater)
- Water bills for some Cobb County residents may skyrocket after a meter reader was fired for turning in bad readings that were much lower than reality. The county has admitted to the situation. The fired meter reader was working for contractor Bermex. The county has issued water-tier adjustments to ease some of the financial pain from the correction. (WSBTV)
