Georgia Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms This Week

ATLANTA, GA — Metro Atlanta is in for another soggy but warm week, according to the National Weather Service.

We should have clear skies for the rest of the day on Monday, so folks who have Presidents Day off will get to enjoy it (the high of around 75 degrees won't hurt, either). But, after that, we'll all need to keep an umbrella handy.

Starting with just a 10 percent chance of rain Tuesday afternoon, the rest of the week could bring showers and thunderstorms. There's a 50 percent chance of showers Tuesday night, with the thunderstorm possibility starting up Wednesday morning and continuing into Thursday.

When we're not getting wet, it should be pleasant to get out and about, though. Highs every day this week are forecast to be in the upper 70s, with lows not expected to get down below 59 degrees.

Tuesday: A 10 percent chance of showers after 5 p.m. Patchy dense fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Southeast wind 5-10 m.p.h. A 50 percent chance of showers Tuesday night, mainly after 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southeast wind around 5 m.p.h.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind 5-10 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 15 m.p.h. Wednesday night, a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. A 30 percent chance of showers Thursday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Friday night, a 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.
