Georgia Weather: Let The Pollen Counts Begin

The weather will be warmer and sunny in metro Atlanta this week. But pollen counts, as allergy sufferers know, are already on the rise.

ATLANTA, GA — With only a few showers to start the week and sunny skies bringing high temperatures into the upper 70s, what's not to like about springtime in metro Atlanta? Well, if you're an allergy sufferer, you already know the answer to that question.

While weather this week will mostly be great, pollen counts are on the rise.

According to Weather.com's Allergy Tracker, Atlanta currently has the third-highest pollen count in the country, trailing only Waco, Texas, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. With most of the pollen coming from trees and plants, pollen counts will be high every day this work week, dropping to moderate on Sunday.
