Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:

1. A massive hole has opened in the middle of Interstate 75 southbound near the Canton Road Connector. The hole opened on Saturday evening and shut down traffic. As of the time of this writing, the Georgia Department of Transportation has not released a time frame for the repair and lane reopening. Travelers are advised to find alternate routes. (CBS 46 News)
2. Councilman Andre L. Sims will be hosting a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, Jul. 28. The councilman represents Ward 6. The meeting will be held at Fire Station 56 on Sawyer Road starting at 6:30 p.m. Unsure of which ward you reside in? Click for ward maps. (Cobb County Courier)
3. Cobb Animal Services will be waiving adoption fees during today's Adopt-A-Thon event. The Monday Funday Summer Adopt-A-Thon will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the shelter on Al Bishop Drive.
