Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. The Marietta History Center's August Pop-In event will be on Aug. 20. The family-friendly event will be between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the museum through fun activities and crafts. The event is free thanks to a private donor's generous support. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. Traffic was shifted last weekend on Marietta's Interstate 75 by the Georgia Department of Transportation. The shift was necessary for the department to perform emergency bridge repairs. Traffic was shifted from 7:00 p.m. on Saturday to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday. Residents are reminded that dialing 511 can provide real-time traffic information. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. Marietta's East Cobb Middle School has added leggings to the dress code. The new policy was due to students actively persuading Principal Leetonia Young during Women's History Month to remove the leggings restriction. According to the female students, the dress code places significantly fewer restrictions on the male student body. (11 Alive)
