Marietta K9 Helps Save Naked Man's Life In Blistering Cold
Jacquo and his handler responded to reports of a man acting erratically in the cold. The K9 tracked the man where he was hiding in a creek.

MARIETTA, GA — A Marietta police K9 and his handler are being credited with saving a man's life earlier this week. Police were dispatched after a man driving erratically and suffering from an unidentified mental condition parked his vehicle and started running naked around local businesses, all the while in blistering cold temperatures.
The man then fled into some nearby woods, where officers were unable to find him. A Marietta police sergeant called in K9 Officer Jacquo to work on his day off to assist with the search. Jacquo and his handler, Off. Powell, arrived, and just five minutes after they started the track, Jacquo found the man hiding underwater in a nearby creek.
Powell credits the hundreds of hours of training they have working together over the last three years.

While Marietta police said their K9s don't specifically train to find naked people in the woods, Jacquo's tracking was perfect and is credited with saving the man's life. By the time they convinced the man to exit the water, he had been outside in cold weather, completely naked, for at least an hour.
