Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:
- Next Saturday, Jun. 18, is Keep Cobb Beautiful's annual hazardous waste collection. The collection drive will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Jim R. Miller Park on Callaway Road in Marietta. Click the link for the full list of items accepted during the collection drive. (Cobb County Courier)

- Vacancies at Cobb County have reached a critical level. The county's staffing shortage has hit such a level that it is now requiring the county to stop offering basic services to some residents. County officials are considering plans to hire private contractors to fill vacant positions. The biggest issue is the pay scale that the county offers.
