• Free food for needy provided by Marietta church, nonprofit group (wsbtv.com) — Residents in need can pick up free groceries at the Episcopal Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul on Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta on Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors will briefly register inside, then receive a box of nonperishable food plus bread, chicken, milk, and cereal, enough to feed four people for two weeks.
   

• Six inmates charged in fight at Cobb County Jail (macon.com) — A Marietta man is among six inmates now facing new charges after a violent fight inside the Cobb County Adult Detention Center earlier this month. Authorities say the group repeatedly struck another inmate, with one man accused of causing severe head and facial injuries and a brain hemorrhage. All six remain in custody, and several have additional holds from other jurisdictions.
   

• Lockheed Martin might manufacture some C-130Js in India (cobbcountycourier.com) — Lockheed Martin’s Marietta plant, currently the sole C-130J production site, could share future manufacturing with a new Indian hub if India orders up to 80 aircraft. Company officials say the deal would still add about 12 planes built in Marietta, potentially extending local production and supporting Cobb County jobs well into the 2040s.
