New Redistricting Map Gets Nod of Approval
The vote is nonbinding. It's up to the legislators who draw the maps to make any changes to the map already approved by the state House.

The board met with the Citizens Oversight Committee this afternoon for the group's final report. Not a whole lot changed since the preliminary report in June 2011. But there were several tweaks here and there. For the entire report, see the attachment.
On tap tonight for the commissioners is a relook at the county's redistricting maps. Commissioner Woody Thompson, who represents South Cobb, is upset that Mableton has been split in two. The board gave their preference tonight to a different map that alleviated some of Thompson's concerns.
