Man Fatally Stabs Brother In Marietta: Police

A man is now facing a murder charge in connection with the fatal stabbing of his older brother, Marietta Police said.

MARIETTA, GA — A 41-year-old man was arrested after police accused him of stabbing and killing his brother Thursday in the 1100 block of Mountain View Drive.

Marietta Police on Friday said the fatal stabbing occurred around 3:15 p.m. When officers arrived, they saw Jonathan Hightower, 43, with a single puncture wound to the chest, police said.

Marietta Fire then rendered aid while officers searched the area, police said.

Jonathan Hightower's brother, Sherman Hightower, stayed at the scene and was arrested without incident, police said.

Sherman Hightower was charged on suspicion of aggravated assault deadly weapon and felony murder, police said. He was taken to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond, police said.
