Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:
- Marietta Police K-9 Officer Barney and his handler, Officer Hill, helped a local woman who was distraught and struggling with a mental health issue last Wednesday. For 45 minutes, K-9 Barney comforted the woman, enabling her to relax as they waited for more assistance. When an ambulance finally arrived, the woman agreed to go to the hospital for further evaluation. (11 Alive)
- Andrick Barron, Xavier Jones, and a third man on the run are accused of carjacking at the Amber Grove Apartments in Cobb County. Local police stated that all three men robbed a man at gunpoint, pistol-whipped him, and then shot at him. Barron and Jones have been apprehended, but the third suspect is still being sought. Jones is also wanted for murder in Gwinnett County. (WSB Atlanta)
- Karen Hallacy of East Cobb has been reappointed to the Development Authority of Cobb County for a second term. The authority's main responsibility is to approve bond proposals and incentives for businesses and organizations. Hallacy is a member of the Cobb Elder Abuse Task Force as well as the authority's former secretary/treasurer and the Georgia PTA's former president. (East Cobb News)

- Public service announcement! Workers traveling from door-to-door in Marietta City must have a Marietta City permit and follow city codes 8-12-16-020 and 8-12-16-030.
