🌱 Marietta Murderer Sentenced + Hazardous Weather Outlook Report

Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:
- Marietta's Elias Bustamente, 24, was sentenced to life in prison on Monday. Bustamente was convicted of murdering a man on Jul. 5, 2020, in Smyrna. He attempted to kill himself following the murder but was unsuccessful. He will not have the possibility of parole. (MDJOnline.com)
- The National Weather Service reports that its hazardous weather outlook for the Marietta area will likely last through the week. Residents will likely encounter showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms may become severe with damaging winds, frequent lightning, and localized heavy rainfall. The storms will likely shift into central Georgia through the weekend. - Registration is now open for PAL Afterschool programs. The programs start at $75 but there is a free option for those that qualify. Registration for Afterschool dance, martial arts, and boxing programs are still open. The programs are held at the Hugh L. Grogan Jr. Community Center on Lawrence Street. (City of Marietta)
