Marietta Murders Focus Of 'On The Case With Paula Zahn'

Sharon and Samantha Brady were brutally murdered in 1986. On Sunday, ID will air an episode on how the cases have been reopened.

MARIETTA, GA -- Two Marietta double homicides will be the subject of a weekend TV show. On Sunday, April 29 at 10 pm, true-crime network Investigation Discovery will be investigating the murders of Sharon and Samantha Brady on the series "On The Case With Paula Zahn."

On Friday, September 12, 1986, a young girl saw her friend's 3-year-old sister waving to her from inside a house. Through the screened window, Brandi Brady said her mom and sister were hurt, and that she could not get out. The girl called 911, and responding firefighters broke in the window to gain entry.

Inside there was a lifeless body lying face down on the living room couch. The firefighters grabbed 3-year-old Brandi and backed out of the apartment. Lt. Wayne Kennedy arrived minutes later, and immediately noticed blood spatter covering every surface of the kitchen. There was no room in the small apartment that wasn't stained by the blood of the two victims, 13-year-old Samantha Brady and her mother 40-year-old Sharon Brady.

Each victim had been repeatedly stabbed and raped. Kennedy retired with the case still unsolved, but in 2012 he convinced an old colleague, Det. John Dawes, to re-open the investigation.
