Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:
- The Marietta City Council is reviewing a request for a new medical office building at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. The proposal would construct a 22,000-square-foot structure at Roselane Street and North Avenue. The site's current zoning is for single-family homes. The Marietta Planning Commission is not recommending that the zoning be changed by the council. (MDJOnline.com)
- A Cobb County student was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday morning while walking to school. She was struck near North Cobb High School on Old 41 Highway. The student is currently at a local hospital in an unknown condition. The Cobb County Police Department reports that the vehicle's driver was not at fault. (WSB Atlanta)
- Marietta's Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre has announced its 2022-2023 season lineup. The first performance will be Friday, Sep. 23, with a student-choreographed, student-directed production. The company has 125 students in various age groups. Click to get tickets. (City of Marietta)
