Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. A new website for Cobb County Senior Services has launched in the hopes of making it easier to find events and classes at specific senior centers. The new calendar allows residents to simply click on a local senior center to find events. Click here to access the calendar. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. The Cobb County Police Department is asking the community to help identify a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run incident. A Marietta man was killed while crossing Austell Road on Sunday. The victim's identity is being withheld until the family can be notified. A vehicle involved in the incident will likely have damage on its bumper, hood, or grille. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the department immediately. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. A portion of Interstate 75 southbound in Marietta was shut down on Sunday night following a single-car crash. The incident occurred near the Allgood Road Bridge overpass around 9:15 p.m. Drivers were advised to use Highway 41 as an alternate route to avoid the congestion caused by the serious accident. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. (CBS 46 News)

  • Cobb County's Family Fun Safety Day will be held on Jul. 12 at 9:00 a.m. at the Cobb County Safety Village in Marietta. There is a $5 cost per person with a $20 cost for a family. Participants will enjoy family-friendly educational activities. (Cobb County)
  • This month's Pop-In event at the Marietta History Center will be Rockets & Robots. The event will be on Jul. 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (City of Marietta)
