Couple Pleads Guilty of Abusing Teenage Son

A Paulding County couple accused of locking their 18-year-old son in a bathroom and giving him little food for at least three years pleaded guilty Thursday.

Under an agreement with the state, Paul and Sheila Comer pleaded guilty to four charges, including child cruelty and false imprisonment. They could spend up to 15 years in prison and 30 years on probation.

Former Basketball Star Indicted for Attacking Ex-Girlfriend

A Fulton County grand hury on Wednesday returned an indictment against former WNBA star Chamique Holdsclaw in an alleged assault against her former girlfriend.

Holdsclaw, 35, of Smyrna, faces charges of aggravated assault, first degree criminal damage and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony

A court date has yet to be set. Holdsclaw faces up to 65 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

Pastor Pulled Over at Gunpoint by Alpharetta Police

A Cumming pastor was was pulled over at gunpoint by Alpharetta Police earlier this month when they mistook him for an armed robber.

God's House of Prayer Pastor Boyd Allen was with two friends on Alpharetta Highway when one of the friends realized they had left a newly purchased gun on top of the car and got out to retrieve it. Seeing the gun on top of the car, a concerned witness called police and that's what caused the confusion.

No Tax Increase in DeKalb's Approved $559M Budget

The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners voted earlier this week to approve a $559 million county budget for 2013 that includes no tax increase.

The budget is a reduction of county CEO Burrell Ellis' proposed $565 million budget that would have raised taxes by .64 mills or about $20 on a $200,000 home.
