Marietta Man, 26, Dies After Being Hit By Car While Walking Across Interstate 75

A 26-year-old man was hit by a car over the weekend and killed while he was walking across Interstate 75 in the early morning hours.

MARIETTA, GA — A 26-year-old man has been identified as the victim who was hit by a car overnight on Saturday, according to the Marietta Police Department.

At 3:38 a.m. Saturday, Mainor Asahel Chirinos Sanchez of Marietta was walking on Interstate 75 north in the travel lanes when he was hit by a 2020 Toyota Tundra, driven by 63-year-old Daniel Bittner of Ohio.

Chirinos Sanchez was pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators initially not able to identify him initially, but after seeing news reports, his family came forward.

No charges are anticipated, police said Monday.
