  1. Officials from Marietta City School report that earlier last week, a student released pepper spray on a school bus. The pepper spray caused at least one student to get sick, according to an email sent to parents from MCS leaders. First responders evaluated the students and the bus driver. As of Sunday, it is unclear as of now how the student obtained the pepper spray and why they released it. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. A Cobb County Bank of America was vandalized on Saturday night, according to officials. "Stop Cop City," the name of an organization that opposes the construction of a new police training center in the county, was graffitied on the front of the building. Other Stop Cop City protesters reportedly broke windows of buildings and attacked APD patrol cars on Saturday. Spokespeople for Stop Cop City released a statement that they would not back down and do not find their actions to be violent. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. The Marietta-Roswell chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will host a human trafficking forum in support of Human Trafficking Awareness Month. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 28, the public is invited to a panel discussion that includes the Cobb Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit.   • The 7th annual Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run/Walk Peachtree Road Race kicks off Saturday, Mar. 8 at 8 a.m. All proceeds from the race will improve kids' education, health, and cultural enrichment and local Youth Sports and Recreation Programs.   • The cold weather and cloudy skies couldn't stop hundreds of people from gathering at the Marietta Square Farmer's Market this weekend to purchase fresh fruits, veggies, kitchen staples, and more. The Marietta Square Farmers Market, located just off Mill Street, operates year-round and has an average of 54 vendors every Saturday. The market is open from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday.
