- Registration is officially open for the Harvestfest's Pie Eating Contest. This is the second annual contest to determine the fastest pie eater in Marietta. The pies will be supplied by the Square's Pie Bar. The pie eating will be between 11:30 p.m. and noon on Oct. 15 at the front stage at Glover Park. Click to register. (City of Marietta)
- Cobb Library Foundation's Booked For Lunch fundraiser will feature Carolyn Curry. She will be speaking at the Atlanta Country Club in East Cobb during the event between 12 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The topic of discussion will be her latest book titled "Sudden Death." - The Cobb County Sheriff's Office has officially opened its newest precinct. The new location on the south side of Cobb County will house a K9 unit and the Fugitive Takedown Team. The main office is in Marietta and the new location is in the center of Mableton. (WSB Atlanta)
