- Registration is currently open for Marietta Parks and Recreation Department's 17th Annual Scarecrows in the Square competition. Participants must register for the competition before Sep. 23. There is a $25 fee for entry into the competition, but fees are waived for school scarecrow submissions. The competition winner will be announced on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Harvestfest. - Two Cobb County sisters have won top places in the Junior Olympics. Jasmine Hampton, 17 years old, won second place in her age group for the javelin. Her sister Jordyn Hampton, eight years old, won first in her age group. The sisters are part of Cobb County's Throw 2 Win track club. (WSBTV)
- A Cobb County fifth grader is using bracelets to fight mental health stigma.
