Speed, Alcohol Believed To Be Factors In Serious Austell Crash

One person remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries from the early morning crash.

MARIETTA, GA -- Police believe speed and alcohol were involved in a serious crash in Austell on Tuesday. The crash happened in front of 6601 Crossing Creek Point around 12:15 a.m. Police said a black 2003 Toyota Camry was traveling south on Crossing Creek Point when for unknown reasons, crossed into oncoming traffic before briefly leaving the roadway.

The driver of the Toyota steered the vehicle back onto the road, then struck a white 2012 Ford F-350 pickup truck which was parked on the curb in front of the residence at 6601 Crossing Creek Point.

Because of the impact from the Toyota, the Ford was projected forward into a red 1990 GMC Safari Van which had been parked in front of the Ford. Both the Ford and the GMC were unoccupied when they were struck.
