1. Gov. Brian Kemp declared a State of Emergency in Georgia. With the coldest weather in years approaching Cobb County, prepare and learn what you should do to be ready for three days of below-freezing, dangerous wind-chill weather. 2. Warming shelters opened across the Atlanta metro for the impending cold. In Marietta, MUST Ministries' Hope House will be open until Dec. 26 starting at 8:00 p.m. MUST will provide services for women, children, and men. The Marietta Police Department shared some tips for keeping your home safe while you're away, like having all mail and newspapers collected, leaving a key with a friend or neighbor so that they can make your house look occupied, and utilizing timers so your home appears occupied.
