Suspect In Fatal Marietta Shooting Charged With Murder

Police on Monday identified the Marietta man killed in a shooting at Bentley Road and said the accused shooter was arrested.

MARIETTA, GA — An Atlanta man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Marietta man Friday in the 2600 block of Bentley Road, Marietta Police said Monday.

Both Marietta and Cobb County officers responded around 10:15 p.m. to the scene, where police said someone had been shot outside of a building.

Upon arrival, police said officers found De'shaune Hall, 21, lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers and emergency medical personnel tried to render aid, but Hall died of his injuries, police said.

Witnesses helped detectives identify the shooting suspect as Tavion Taylor, of Atlanta, police said.

After obtaining an address for Taylor, police said Cobb officers went to a complex and saw Taylor walking. Officers then briefly chased Taylor on foot and ultimately arrested him without further incident, police said.

Taylor was charged on suspicion of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime, police said. He was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond, police said.

A motive in the fatal shooting is unknown.
