Inmate Dies At Cobb County Jail (patch.com) — Marietta readers are learning more about the in-custody death of 57-year-old Bobby Clark at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center after he reportedly refused hospital treatment during pre-booking. Authorities say paramedics attempted lifesaving measures before he was pronounced dead, and both the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the sheriff’s office will conduct separate investigations while an autopsy determines the cause.
   

2. Atlanta magazine home sells for $2M (eastcobbnews.com) — High-end and mid-range homes across East Cobb, including several Marietta addresses, changed hands recently, with prices ranging from the mid-$300,000s to nearly $2 million. A Tiffany Park home near the Chattahoochee sold for about $1.98 million, while Marietta neighborhoods like Stonegate at East Worthington and Cambridge Walk also saw notable sales.
   

3. Marietta Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash at Busy Acworth Intersection (thegeorgiasun.com) — A 34-year-old Marietta resident, Tyler Key, was killed Saturday night when his motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection of Stilesboro and Mack Dobbs roads in Acworth, according to Cobb County police. Investigators say an Acworth driver turning left entered his path, and they’re asking anyone who saw the crash to contact the county’s STEP Unit with information.
   

4. Court battle continues over expulsion for Cobb student who warned friend of shooting threat (cobbcountycourier.com) — A Cobb County middle schooler’s expulsion for warning a friend about a shooting threat is back in court, even after a Superior Court judge overturned the punishment. The case, involving Campbell Middle and Cobb schools, has drawn in the Southern Poverty Law Center and local officials who defended the district’s stance to the Marietta Daily Journal, keeping Marietta families closely watching the outcome.
