Teen Mom Charged With Murder In Marietta Infant's Death

A 17-year-old mother is facing new charges in connection with the death of her baby at a Cobb County home.

MARIETTA, GA — A 17-year-old teenage mother is facing new charges in the death of her infant, Marietta Police said Friday.

The infant was found dead Sunday at a Gramling Street home, police said. Leticia Rodriguez, the child's mother, was arrested in connection with her baby's death, police said.

Rodriguez was charged on suspicion of aggravated assault and felony murder, police said. These charges are in addition to the original charges of abuse of a dead body, concealing a death and abandonment of a dead body, police said.

Cobb County jail records on Friday showed Rodriguez remained incarcerated in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

Police did not identify the infant or release a cause or manner of death.
