Truck Driver Killed In Interstate Hit-And-Run In Marietta

A man died in a hit-and-run following the crash of two tractor-trailers on Interstate 75 north, police say.

MARIETTA, GA — A 36-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run Wednesday on Interstate 75 north at South Marietta Parkway, police said.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Marietta Police said Terrell Lowdermilk, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was driving a semi-truck when he collided with another tractor-trailer on I-75.

The drivers pulled over to the right shoulder of the interstate and exited their vehicles.

Lowdermilk was then hit by a vehicle while standing in the left lane on the entrance ramp, police said. The vehicle, which police described as a 2019-2022 Chevrolet Silverado, fled the scene.

Police are investigating the case as a fatality hit-and-run. They asked anyone with information on the case to call officers, (770) 794-5352.
