- Two members of the Marietta City Council have scheduled town hall meetings for this week and next. Councilman Andre L. Sims has scheduled a town hall meeting for Ward 6 on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Sawyer Road Elementary school. Councilwoman Cheryl Richardson will hold a town hall meeting for Ward 1 on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6:00 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers. The staff of the city and residents are invited to attend either or both meetings. (Cobb County Courier)
- Georgia police are getting access to more resources to help with job-related stress and burnout. A local Cobb County officer and his wife began a program to provide trauma training for law enforcement agencies. In Marietta, the police department's 140 officers will soon have access to a wellness room that aims to help officers decompress after stressful or traumatic calls. - The elections for mayor and city council in the new nearby city of Mableton are coming up in March. With 31 people now added to the ballots, residents of the new city will have many options to choose from. (Cobb County Courier)
