MARIETTA, GA – Embattled former news anchor Amanda Davis was pulled over by police officers this week and arrested for allegedly driving on a suspended license, according to a Cobb County incident report obtained by the WXIA.
At her court appearance Wednesday, Davis, 60, was able to prove that her license had been reinstated, but apparently not updated in Cobb County's system, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The arrest came just days after she was hired by Atlanta’s WGCL-TV. The AJC's Rodney Ho contacted the TV station's general manager, Mark Pimental, who told him that Davis was still on track to start rehearsals this week.
“I saw a valid license today,” Pimental purportedly said in a text sent to Ho. “So yes, it appears as if Cobb’s data was incorrect."

She was still cited for an expired tag, but the arrest was a brief embarrassment for Davis, who's recent attempts at a comeback have been marred by ill-timed errors in judgment associated with drinking and driving.
Davis has been a prominent face on Atlanta TV, having worked for WAGA-TV for nearly 30 years. She was perhaps best known for her popular TV segment “Wednesday’s Child,” which helped recruit adoptive families.
Davis was reportedly pulled over about 3 p.m. near Cumberland Mall for an expired tag, WXIA reports. During the stop, the officer discovered that her license appeared to be no longer valid in the system.

She spent the night in jail on a $1,320 bond, according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. She was expected to make a court appearance Wednesday.
She has had troubles behind the wheel. She was arrested for DUI in 2012 and retired on air about six months later. In her exit speech she paraphrased a Bible verse, saying, “But yea, though I walk through the valley, with God’s help, I made it though.”
In 2015, Davis was arrested in Cobb County for DUI again on the same day a TV commentary she had recorded was set to air.
