MARIETTA, GA -- A Marietta man was killed Sunday in a two-vehicle collision on Ga. 400, authorities said Tuesday. Donald Diem, 44, was driving a white 2008 Dodge Ram when it crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer just south of Northridge Road interchange, Sandy Springs police said.
The tractor-trailer was driven by James Howard, whose wife was also in the vehicle. She was rushed to Northside Hospital to be treated for a panic attack, authorities said. (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).
"Several witnesses reported that the Dodge struck the tractor trailer at full speed, without applying any brakes," police spokesman Sgt. Sam Worsham said. Diem was pronounced dead at the scene.
