- The victim of a shooting outside Cobb County Taco Mac was identified as Larry Miller, the 24-year-old father of a 1-year-old baby. Miller was shot multiple times outside the restaurant during the busy lunch rush on Monday. Police said the suspect, Peter Lampley, was Miller’s co-worker and that the shooting started inside a car at the restaurant’s parking lot. Lampley is now in custody. (WSB Atlanta)
- The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is relocating its Cobb County office to 1090 Northchase Pkwy. SE, Suite 200 in Marietta. According to the Georgia Department of Human Services Tuesday, the Cobb DFCS office will close its Fairground Street location on Feb. 10. Doors at the new office will open to the public on Feb. 14. - On Tuesday night, republicans JoAnn Birrell and Keli Gambrill agreed to vote on county business after a procedural standoff on Jan. 10. Gambrill and Birrell said despite recordings, they did not vote to enter an executive session during the Jan. 10 meeting. Gambrill's suggestions of malfeasance prompted argument from her Democratic colleagues, particularly Lisa Cupid, who called it "nothing but a display of pomp." (Yahoo News)
