What’s Open, Closed On MLK Jr. Day 2022 In Marietta

MARIETTA, GA — On Monday, residents and businesses in Marietta will take a moment to honor the life and legacy of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.
As a federal holiday, MLK Day could also affect the hours of government offices, libraries, public transportation, garbage pickup and other services in Marietta.
Before you head out, here’s a roundup of what’s open and what’s closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in our city:

- Cobb County government offices and courts are closed Monday.
- Municipal offices for the city of Marietta are closed Monday.
- The Cobb County Public Library system is closed Monday for in-person and curbside services; however library's digital resources are available 24/7. Normal hours resume Tuesday, Jan. 18.
- Cobb County School District and Marietta City Schools campuses and administration buildings will be closed Monday.
- Marietta garbage pick up: For residents within the city of Marietta's city limits, check your individual holiday pickup schedule.
- The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority will operate buses, trains and Streetcar services on Saturday schedules for MLK Jr. Day. Streetcar service will be suspended from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday for a planned march and rally in the downtown area.
- This is a holiday for federal employees and U.S. Postal Service post offices are closed Monday.
- All banks will be closed Monday.
