Tragedy In Cobb County | Woman Dead, Child Injured In Fire

A third victim was able to escape the Powder Springs blaze.

POWDER SPRINGS, GA -- One woman is dead and a child was critically injured in an overnight house fire in Cobb County. According to the Cobb County Fire Department, an adult male was able to escape the house with injuries. None of the names of the victims have been released.

The fire happened in the 4800 block of Missy Way, according to officials, who received a 911 shortly after midnight from the man, who said his house was on fire and his wife and child were still inside.

Firefighters used ladders -- one in front of the house and the other in the back -- to rescue one person from the blaze.
