Alarm Scares Off Would Be Burglar and Other Cases Investigated by WCSO
The Walton County Sheriff's Office investigated the following incidents during the period July 15 - 18, 2013.
This report was compiled from the Walton County Sheriff's Office Zone Alerts.
Zone 1
- Alarm – An alarm sounded on Kraddle Kreek Drive. The alarm was accidently set off by the homeowner breaking a window while vacuuming.

- Suspicious Person – A white male was seen walking through a property on Hickory Nut Way in Squirrel Hollow. Extra Patrol requested.Â
Zone 3
- Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Snows Mill Rd. @ Mt. Carmel Church Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.Â

- Suspicious Vehicle – A white conversion van was seen driving slowly through the area of Tommy Dillard Rd.
- Burglary Report – An unsecured residence on Hale Place was entered and numerous weapons were taken. A suspect has been named in the theft.
Zone 5
- Suspicious Vehicle – A vehicle was seen at a vacant residence on Watson Mill Court in Watson Mill Estates.
- Alarm – A residence on Alcovy Ridge Lane was found unsecured after an alarm sounded. The key holder was contacted. All windows and doors were secured.
- Underage Drinking – Several juveniles were found drinking in the area of Mitchell Rd. and June Ivey Rd. The parents were notified.
- Alarm – A vacant residence on Fairwinds Drive in Fairwinds subdivision was found unsecured. All windows and doors were secured. The key holder was notified.
- Fire – A residence on Hudson Rd. was struck by lightning, which caused a structure fire. The fire was controlled and damage was minimal.
- Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Etchison Rd. in reference to possible drug activity.
- Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in the area of Bold Springs, Roscoe Davis Rd. and Double Springs Rd. in reference to recent thefts.Â
Zone 6
- Safety Check - Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Youth Monroe Rd. @ Broadnax Mill Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
- Burglary Report – Unknown persons entered into the back door of a residence on Floye Drive. A wallet and a safe with medications inside were taken. A suspect has been named in the theft.
- Entering Auto – An unlocked vehicle was entered and golfing equipment was taken.
- Arrest – Two subjects were arrested on Donna Lane for outstanding warrants.
- Damage to Property – Several junction boxes were damaged on Hwy 20. Extra patrol requested.
Zone 7
- Damage to Property – Property was destroyed at a vacant residence on Camp Lake Rd. A suspect has been named. Extra patrol requested.
- Burglary Attempt – A residence on Cambridge Way in Cambridge Chase subdivision was forcibly entered through the front door. When the alarm sounded the suspect fled without contact.
- Burglary Report – A residence on Old Hwy 138 was burglarized. The front door frame was damaged as a result of the entry. Medications were taken from the residence.Â
