Clearview Regional Opens New Wing, Adds 27 New Beds
The new wing adds 27 new beds to the hospital.
At an official ribbon cutting of the new Bone and Joint Health Center at Clearview Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, CEO James Machado explained the benefits to the community of the new wing.
"From time to time we run into issues in the ER in which we don't have a bed available in the inpatient units to accommodate a patient that really needs to be put in a bed so we hold from time to time and that's not the best case scenario for our patients," Machado said, adding that it was necessary right from the outset. The thought behind the bone and joint center came from the medical staff."
Machado said in addition to the additional 27 additional beds, the facility also added a specialized wing specifically tailored to bone and joint health. The $5 million expansion adds more than 15,000 square feet of specialized medical accommodation to the hospital.
According to the website, the center offers anterior approach to hip replacement, spine care, arthritis care, sports medicine, joint replacement and reconstruction as well as other treatments. Clearview Regional has several board-certified Orthopedic surgeons serving the local community through the new Bone and Joint Center.Â
