This Week in Monroe: Cooler Temperatures and Government Meetings

Five things to know about the coming week.

1. Scattered rain showers early in the week will give way to mainly sunny and clear skies as the weekend nears.  Expect cooler temperatures with highs in the lows sixties on Tuesday and Wednesday, but they will warm back up to the mid seventies for the rest of the week.  See the complete forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

2. The next meeting of the Monroe City Council takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the Municipal Auditorium located inside City Hall at 215 North Broad Street.  If you can't make it, you can tune in to local cable channel 16 to view it.

3. The Downtown Development Authority will meet on Thursday, Oct. 10, at City Hall at 8 a.m.
