Atlanta Company Helps Norcross Mother Bounce Back

Pull-A-Part and Family Promise give vehicles that will improve 2017 for multiple households

Over the holiday season, free vehicles were awarded to families in need across the country through a collaboration between locally-based DIY auto parts company, Pull-A-Part and national nonprofit, Family Promise. While cars were donated at 23 Pull-A-Part locations nationwide, three were given away here in the Atlanta area, including one to a Norcross mother at the company’s Atlanta North location.

The honoree recently blew the transmission in her vehicle and found herself having to use Uber to commute back and forth to work, as well as to transport her son. She was chosen by Family Promise, whose mission is to help homeless and low income families return to independence, because of her previous involvement with the organization and her proven commitment to work hard for her family. After graduating from the Family Promise program herself, she has returned to the organization as a volunteer to help others suffering hardship get back on their feet.

The vehicle, provided by Pull-A-Part, will help give this mother and the other families chosen reliable transportation and an easier path to independence in 2017.
