Driver Nearly Hits Officers, Flees On High-Speed Chase: Police
A driver almost hit officers before fleeing in his vehicle on a high-speed chase through several jurisdictions, Norcross Police said.
NORCROSS, GA — A driver almost hit officers before fleeing in his vehicle on a high-speed chase through several jurisdictions Wednesday, according to Norcross Police.
At around midnight, officers encountered a man in a parked vehicle at the Hometowne Studios, located at 6295 Jimmy Carter Blvd. Police said he appeared to be sleeping, which is a city ordinance violation, urban camping, and failed to obey officer’s initial commands.
He attempted to drive off nearly striking two officers and an officer fired a shot in an attempt to stop the him from running over other officers at the scene, police said. He then fled in his vehicle, driving through several jurisdictions, until he was finally stopped by Gwinnett County Police using the PIT maneuver.

After a short foot pursuit the man was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, one count of felony obstruction, fleeing, and possession of methamphetamine.
