This annual awards program recognizes exemplary art educators who best exemplify the responsibilities and duties as not only an art educator, but as a leader in their community and within their school. Winners are selected by a panel of GAEA board members.

β€œI am beyond humbled to be selected as this year’s state Secondary Art Educator of the year. I am passionate about teaching our youth through the discipline of the visual arts and I firmly believe that hands-on, project based learning is what enables our students to authentically learn, and retain this new knowledge,” Debi West said.
