Gwinnett County Public Schools: Peachtree Ridge HS Senior Earns 2022 Gwinnett STAR Student Title

An event celebrating some of Gwinnett Countyβs brightest students culminated with the naming of Chungin βRoyβ Lee as Gwinnett Countyβs STAR (Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition) Student. He will represent Gwinnett Countyβs public and private schools at the next level of STAR competition. As part of the recognition, the STAR student selects a teacher who has had a strong influence on his or her academic career. The Peachtree Ridge HS senior selected his Language Arts teacher, Adam Sherman, as his STAR Teacher.

The event recognizes all local school STAR students from each Gwinnett County high school as well as the top student from Buford HS (Buford City Schools).Β A total of 44 students from 31 Gwinnett schools, both public and private, were awarded the STAR designation. Each local school STAR student is the senior in the top 10% of his or her class with the highest SAT score.
The Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation and Partnership Gwinnett partnered to honor STAR Student and Teacher honorees during this yearβs STAR Student and Teacher Luncheon on Wednesday, February 9. The event celebrates all local school STAR students from each Gwinnett County HS (public and private), as well as the top student from Buford HS (Buford City Schools). James βJimmyβ Ragazino was named Buford City Schoolsβ STAR Student and he selected Lisa Cole as his STAR Teacher.

The 2022 Gwinnett County and Buford City STAR Student and Teacher winners will now move on to compete for the regional title. Region winners are considered at the state level for the honor of being named Georgiaβs 2022 STAR Student and Teacher.
