NORCROSS, GA -- A Duluth man lost control while passing several cars and died Monday, after a traffic accident near the intersection of Old Norcross Road and Langford Road in unincorporated Norcross, according to Gwinnett County police. The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.

Harry Nguyen, 24, of Duluth, died after police said lost control while traveling eastbound on Old Norcross Road coming from Buford Highway at around 7 p.m. He was in the right lane trying to pass several cars before his lane merged with the other lane.

Nguyen was driving a black 2004 Lexus IS300.

Jorge Juarez De Leon, 42, of Snellville, and a passenger were traveling westbound on Old Norcross Road in the opposite direction. As Nguyen was trying to pass the other vehicles, he lost control of his car and traveled into the westbound lane. His vehicle rotated and was struck by the De Leon on the passenger side.

De Leon was driving a white 2000 Chevrolet Astrovan.

Both Jorge and his passenger had minor injuries.

Notification was made to Nguyen’s family.

The investigation is still active.
