Missing Norcross Man Dies Of Natural Causes In Duluth Hospital

The man died at the Duluth hospital under another name after being missing since mid-September, police said.

NORCROSS, GA — A man whose family reported him missing on Sept. 11 in Norcross is dead, Gwinnett County Police said Friday.

The man, identified as 44-year-old Erick Moises Hernandez Lopez, was last seen in the area of Langtry Lane by his roommates, police said.

During the investigation, police learned his cell phone had been used on Aug. 17 to get a taxi ride to a Duluth hospital. Two days later, detectives discovered a man with another name died at the same hospital.

The man's remains were found at a nearby funeral home, where they were cremated, police said. Detectives then found Lopez's wallet with his cell phone at the funeral home, police said.

Foul play is not suspected in his death, police said.

"It is believed that Erick died at the hospital by natural causes under another name," police said in a news release.
