New Peachtree Elementary School Principal Named
Kara Dutton, the former Jackson Elementary School Assistant Principal is replacing Dr. Beverly Smith who is retiring at the end of the year.

Gwinnett County Public Schools recently announced that Kara Dutton has been named the new principal at Peachtree Elementary. She replaces Dr. Beverly Smith who is retiring at the end of the year.
Dutton has been serving as Assistant Principal at Jackson Elementary since 2003. She joined the Gwinnett County Public School in 1997 as a first grade teacher at Harris Elementary (1997-2001) and then as a 3rd-4th Grade Title I Support Teacher from 2001-2003).
Prior to joining GCPS, Dutton was a K-1 Teacher at Davidson Elementary (1995-1997) in the Charlotte Mecklenberg Schools system in North Carolina.

• Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science – King University• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education – Appalachian State University
• Master’s degree in Educational Leadership – University of Georgia
• Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership – University of West Georgia

Dutton is a member of the Quality-Plus Leader Academy, Aspiring Principal Program, Cohort 2014.Â
Peachtree Elementary School is located at 5995 Crooked Creek Road. There are currently 1,792 students enrolled at the Peachtree Corners school.
