Person Shot Investigation Now Ruled Suicide
After an investigation, the Gwinnett County Police Department has determined a former homicide investigation has been ruled a suicide.

NORCROSS, GA – After an investigation, the Gwinnett County Police Department has determined a former homicide investigation has been ruled a suicide. The death occurred at 3279 Sunrise Village Lane in unincorporated Norcross at the Ashford Jackson Creek Apartment complex.
The results from the Medical Examiner’s Office, the death of Juan Orlando Guevara Gomez , 49, of El Salvador, has been ruled a suicide.
It was learned that Guevara Gomez was inside the apartment with a few of his friends at the time of the incident. One of his friends brought a gun and had briefly placed the gun down. Police had determined, Guevara Gomez picked up the gun and shot himself in the head. Afterwards, the friend grabbed his gun and he, along with the others, ran out of the apartment, according to police.

Eventually, the friends were all identified and interviewed, police reported. None of them will face any criminal charges, according to police.
