Robbery Suspect Killed In Gwinnett Co. Police Shooting
The person was accused of shooting at two officers during a police chase in Gwinnett County.

NORCROSS, GA β A suspect accused of robbery is dead after a police chase and shooting Thursday near Jimmy Carter and Peachtree Industrial boulevards, Gwinnett County Police said.
Police said the suspect, who was not identified, was the subject of four outstanding warrants in Hall County and was accused of robbery in Gwinnett.
An officer tried to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle, a red SUV, around 6:30 p.m. in a restaurant parking lot at Jimmy Carter, police said.

The suspect initially pulled over; however, the person was accused of not following the officer's verbal commands and speeding away from the scene while shooting at the officer. Police said at least one round hit the restaurant window.
A detective in a nearby unmarked police car activated his blue lights as the suspect began approaching, police said.

The suspect was accused of shooting at least one round at the unmarked car. Police said the round went through the trunk, through the backseat and lodged itself into the driver's seat where the officer was sitting.
The officer in the marked car chased the suspect onto Jimmy Carter, police said. After the suspect turned left, their SUV began to spin on two wheels due to speed and the suspect lost control, police said.
The SUV spun and faced the patrol car and the officer in the 7000 block of Jimmy Carter, police said. The suspect shot at the officer through the windshield and passenger window before the police car crashed with the suspect's car, police said.
The officer immediately got out of his patrol car and shot back, hitting the suspect at least once, police said.
Officers immediately rendered aid to the suspect, and the person died at the scene, police said.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the case.
