Strong Storms, Flooding Batter Norcross, Gwinnett
A series of thunderstorms rolled through the area Wednesday, causing flash floods in Norcross and other havoc.
NORCROSS, GA β As residents in Norcross and Gwinnett County recovered from severe thunderstorms that churned through the area Wednesday, a new threat emerged for many residents: downed trees and power lines.
A tree fell on a home in the 1200 block of Tred Avon Way in Lilburn, fire officials said. The tree smashed through the home, tearing down part of a wall.
The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Gwinnett County until 5:30 p.m. meaning that flooding was imminent or occurring.

Video uploaded to social media showed strong gusts of wind and torrents of rain throughout the day Wednesday.
The Peach State Cornhole League announced that all play in Buford, Snellville was postponed, but Norcross, because it was indoors, would continue.

Elsewhere in Gwinnett, the storms caused lightning strikes at two homes β one in Lilburn and the other in Loganville.
