"After further review, the officer discovered that the suspect was not truthful with his identity," Gwinnett police spokeswoman Michele Pihera told Patch in an email. She said that more charges may be added as a result.
In the first instance on July 5, authorities said the suspect, wearing a Superman T-shirt, approached a bank teller at the Wells Fargo at 1625 Indian Trail Lilburn Road in unincorporated Norcross. He passed the teller a note demanding cash, Gwinnett police said in a news release.

Once the teller handed him the cash, he left the bank -- but he wasn't done with his supervillain-like capers, according to Gwinnett police.
On the next day -- July 6 -- about 1 p.m., the man entered another Norcross Wells Fargo, this time at 6155 Buford Highway. Just like the previous day, the suspect waited in line then approached the teller and passed a note demanding cash.
Again, he walked out of the bank with money, police said. Bank tellers told police that the perpetrator got into a white Jeep and sped away. As in the first incident, He was wearing a Superman T-shirt.
Surveillance images from the bank were circulated among Gwinnett officers and, incidentally, one of them recalled at the West Precinct "recalled performing a traffic stop on the suspect earlier in the week," according to a Gwinnett police news release.

On July 6, law enforcement officers caught up with the suspect at a Norcross hotel and arrested him. He was then taken to the Gwinnett County jail. He is probably not wearing a Superman T-shirt.
