FODAC’s “Breakfast with Santa” to Support Children with Disabilities
A festive meet-and-greet with Santa. Every child receives a toy and a photo.
FODAC is inviting Atlanta families to gather for a morning of holiday warmth and community impact at its annual FODAC's Breakfast with Santa, taking place Saturday, December 13 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker. Retired Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns, a beloved fixture in Atlanta homes for more than four decades, will be special guest host for the celebration.
The event supports FODAC’s Pediatric Home Medical Equipment (HME) Program, which provides life-changing mobility and adaptive equipment to more than 300 children each year. FODAC refurbishes donated pediatric equipment—everything from standers and gait trainers to specialized strollers, feeding aids, ambulation tools, wheelchairs, and more. These items allow children with disabilities to participate fully in school, social activities, and everyday life.
“We support children with disabilities and their families, who otherwise might not have access to these life-changing resources. FODAC employs a full-time occupational therapist to help meet the growing needs of more than 275 children each year. We collect and refurbish donated HME to factory standards and distribute it at a low cost to those who need it due to a disability from injury or illness. Pediatric equipment we provide includes standers, walkers, gait trainers, positioning chairs, feeding aids, bicycles and tricycles, strollers, wheelchairs, ambulation aids, bathing and toilet aids, and more. Having access to this equipment enables our pediatric clients to participate more fully in school, social engagements, and community activities.” said Chris Brand, President & CEO of FODAC. “This equipment isn’t a luxury—it’s freedom, independence, and inclusion. The community’s support at events like Breakfast with Santa makes it possible.”
