STONE MOUNTAIN, GA – Every year, thousands of individuals struggle to access affordable mobility equipment, preventing them from leading independent lives. Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) is working to change that. On Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, FODAC’s annual Run, Walk ‘n’ Roll returns to Stone Mountain Park’s Railroad Pavilion from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, bringing together people of all abilities for a movement that makes a difference.
This year, the first 100 people to pre-register and check in at the event will receive FREE Stone Mountain Adventure Passes. The event welcomes everyone to move in their own way—whether running, walking, rolling, or another form of movement—to raise funds for FODAC’s Home Medical Equipment (HME) Program, which provides life-changing mobility aids at little to no cost for individuals in need.

Access to mobility equipment can be the difference between isolation and independence. Families like Isabella’s understand this all too well.
After surgery for hip dysplasia, 5-year-old Isabella (Fulton County) needed a specialized pediatric walker to help her walk. When her parents learned that it would take several months for insurance to approve the medical item, they realized they couldn’t bear to delay their daughter’s recovery. Isabella’s father called FODAC from the hospital to seek help. He was relieved to talk to Bryan, FODAC’s Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and a Assistant Technology Professionl. He said, “Bryan is very proactive, and he understands the pain parents go through trying to navigate the healthcare system. He called us back in a few hours and told us he had a walker for us. He gave us hope that day.”
