Business Spotlight: Alterations Shop Owner 'Always Strives for Perfection'

Go2Bella, located in Peachtree Corners near The Forum, offers alterations services for men, women and children's clothing.

Tucked in the corner of the Village at Peachtree Corners shopping center is a new alterations shop. Go2Bella opened this spring, and the new business is already drawing a steady following of regular customers.

The business is owned by Isabella Margineanu. She's been in the clothing alterations and design business for over 30 years. She began her career as a men's tailor's apprentice, eventually moving into alterations then the wedding design business before opening her shop here.

She offers alterations for men, ladies, bridal and children's clothes. She also offers monogramming for clothes, bed and bath linen.

Some years back she worked for Celebrity of Paces, a retail shop in Buckhead, that sells high-end gowns and wedding dresses then clients started asking to her to alter their wedding gowns so that their daughters could wear them which lead to her opening her own bridal design shop.

"I found my passion for bridal," said Margineanu, who owned her bridal shop, Casa di Moda for Brides for 15 years. She closed her Buckhead shop in 2008 and took a few years off before returning to the alterations business.

"I still do custom wedding gowns," said Margineanu who said she always goes the extra mile for her clients. "I never say no to a client, I can do anything, and if I can't I will find someone who can."

Margineanu is a tailor, seamstress and designer all rolled into one. She said she always strives for perfection over profit. "I take a lot of pride in my work," she added.
