Flood Watch Issued for Peachtree Corners
The National Weather Service is predicting one to two inches to fall Saturday and several more inches to fall on Sunday.

More rain is predicted throughout the weekend with up to one to two inches expected to fall in north Georgia through the weekend including Gwinnett County according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
NWS has issued a flood watch for Saturday through Sunday evening for Gwinnett, including Peachtree Corners. The weather service cautions that because the area is already saturated from previous rain, it could lead to flooding and flash flooding around rivers - and it could also lead to falling trees.
A flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to a flood warning. The NWS recommends monitoring weather conditions and be prepared to take action if a warning is issued.
For Saturday the NWS reports:
PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL ESPECIALLY THISÂ AFTERNOON AND EVENING MAY LEAD TO ADDITIONAL FLASH FLOODING AND RIVER FLOODING.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS AVERAGING BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED GENERALLY NORTH OF ATLANTA...THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING AND WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH OR GREATER. WITH SATURATED SOILS...IT WILL NOT TAKE MUCH WIND TO DOWN TREES.
For Sunday:
HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED AGAIN ON SUNDAY ESPECIALLY ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA WITH AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN EXPECTED.
AFTER SUNDAY...THERE WILL STILL BE PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL IN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. NORTH GEORGIA LOOKS TO SEE THE BEST CHANCES FOR THIS ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AND THERE IS SOME CONCERN THAT ACCUMULATING HIGH RAINFALL TOTALS MAY LEAD TO MORE SIGNIFICANT FLOODING ACROSS THE AREA. PERSONS PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.
